Quote of the Week: SPOTLIGHT

In honor of "Spotlight" winning Best Picture last night, I have decided to pull from this film for my quote of the week. For those of you who haven't seen it, well first, go see it, second, it centers around the Boston newspaper column titled Spotlight when they were writing their article on the Boston Catholic church's priests. Micheal Keaton does a great job leading these reporters. Here is my quote of the week:

"Sometimes it's easy to forget that we spend most of our time stumbling around in the dark. Suddenly, a light goes on and there's a fair share of blame to go around."

-Marty Baron

In the film, the new Lead Editor is trying to restructure and fix what's "wrong" with the newspaper. He's basically saying that no one really knows what they're doing most of the time and when something finally does make sense, we all realize that it's not really any one person's fault in particular. In life, this is important to recognize. For two reasons: people need to understand that they aren't the only ones who don't always know what they're doing and that's perfectly fine, and we're quite literally all in this together (cue High School Musical sing-a-long)!!
