If you haven't already noticed, I try my best to pick film quotes that somehow pertain to my life in the moment. Today, "Forest Gump" just seemed to fit, even though I haven't seen the movie in years. Tom Hanks plays a captivating man, who is somewhat autistic. The film is about Forest's life as he learns to deal with the social impliations that face him. Here is my quote, and I am sure you already have quessed it....

"Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get."

This is one of Gump's most famous quotes. It's a great metaphor for life's incessant need to just throw absolutely anything at you. He's telling his life story and has used this as a way to better understand the twists and turns he's had to deal with. For me, this holds very true today. I have been battling with a lot mentally and emotionally since graduating college and I just feel like everything is being thrown at me and I don't always have control over what I am getting out of it all. Recently I met someone who completely caught me off gaurd and needless to say, I was in no way ready for the change. At first I ran, as fast as possible, in the other direction, but I am learning to embrace it, because even though it scares me senseless, it'll all be worth it in the end.
