A friend of mine made me sit down and watch the Robin Williams documentary, Robin Williams Remembered. He knew how much I loved the guy and simply wouldn't take no for an answer. I was certain the 55-minute film would have me in tears, and was surprised to find myself smiling throughout the entire thing. Losing such a wonderful actor, activist and person is tragic, but the film remembered him in such a way that was endearing and joyous. It's easy to watch, only being 55 minutes long and it doesn't feel dry with endless interviews. Rather interviews are spread out between clips of his best work and made to show the highlights of his career. The documentary even includes a series of clips of interviews from Williams himself and it feels as though he is taking you on this journey to remember his life.

I was surprised about how much I learned about his life in such a short time. Many reports claim he battled with depression his entire life and the film also claims that is true. But it goes beyond that and describes how his work was what saved him and his depression helped shape his work. It also goes on to describe how he fell into comedy and how his show "Mork and Mindy" really built his comedic repitore and made him the wonderful comedian he is known to be.

I would recommend this documentary to anyone, especially other die-heart Williams fans. You can find it on Netflix! The film was orginally made as a PBS television special.
