Season 21 of Dancing With the Stars has certianly proven itself to be a stellar season, with stars such as Alexa Vega, Nick Carter, Andy Grammer and Gary Busey. Everyone is really working their hardest to improve each week. This week's theme was famous dances from the past. Judges favorites were Alison & Andy's rendition of the Singing in the Rain classic, "Good Morning" AND Derek and Bindi's Dirty Dancing. The entire night was upbeat and a blast to watch because the pros did such a fantastic job recreating dances of the past. However, the two true show stealers of Monday night were Bindi Irwin's lift and that snake donned by Alexa Vega in her Britney Spears inspired dance.
Bindi Irwin has been a crowd and judge favorite all season long. Without a doubt she has an infection smile and wonderfully bubbly personality, but I was starting to doubt that she was actually a great dancer. The last couple of weeks have left me wanting more in terms of dancing from her and assuming that her high marks have more to do with her personality and fan-base. I was pleasantly surprised this week when her and Derek Hough took on the actual lift from the film, Dirty Dancing. As someone who has danced herself, and done my fair share of lifts, I know how difficult they can be, and that lift is downright insane. It takes courage, strength and a TON of practice to pull of and they actually did it!

The other show stealer of the night goes to the snake! I say this because it seemed to me that everyone in the studio, including the dancers, hosts and judges were in awe by this snake. I agree with the judges that it was not Alexa's best dance, but I blame that mainly on the choreography. It seemed very tried and it didn't highlight Alexa. Additionally, the judges and audience has to remember she did dance with a snake! Even though not until the very end, it is very difficult to just forget about that throughout the entire dance and I have no doubt it was heavy on her thoughts from beginning to end.
